ALMOND JELLY WITH FRUIT SALAD RECIPE
Create a classic, refreshing dessert in minutes with this easy Almond Jelly with Fruit Salad recipe. Known in many parts of Asia as ‘Annin Tofu’, this delightful treat is made wonderfully simple using LOBO’s Almond Flavour Agar Dessert Mix. The result is a beautifully smooth, fragrant, and wobbly almond jelly that sets to perfection. Served chilled and topped with a vibrant fruit salad, it’s an incredibly light and elegant dessert, perfect for finishing any meal.
Ingredients (for 4-6 servings)
- 1 sachet (130g) LOBO AGAR DESSERT MIX ALMOND FLAVOUR
- 3 cups (720ml) Water
- To Serve:
- Fresh fruits like kiwi, white dragon fruit, ripe papaya or strawberries, chopped
- A splash of evaporated milk (optional)
Method
- Prepare the Jelly Mix: Empty the entire contents of the LOBO Almond Flavour Agar Dessert Mix packet into a medium saucepan. Add the 3 cups (720ml) of room temperature water and whisk everything together until the powder is completely dissolved and there are no lumps.
- Boil the Mixture: Place the saucepan over a medium-high heat and bring it to a full boil, stirring continuously. Once it starts to boil, keep it boiling for about 1 minute, still stirring, to ensure the agar is fully activated.
- Pour and Set: Carefully pour the hot liquid into a shallow container (like a square baking dish) or into individual jelly moulds.
- Cool and Chill: Let the jelly cool down completely at room temperature. Once it’s cool, cover it and transfer it to the refrigerator to chill for at least 1-2 hours, or until it is completely firm.
- Serve: Once the jelly is firm, cut it into bite-sized cubes. Place the almond jelly cubes into serving bowls. Top generously with your favourite fresh fruits. For an extra creamy touch, you can drizzle a little evaporated milk over the top before serving.
